On 28 June 2020, the commendation meeting of universities in Beijing to commemorate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China was held enthusiastically. In our institution, three Party organizations were awarded as Advanced Party Organizations in Beijing Universities, three Communist Party members were awarded as Outstanding Communist Party Members in Beijing Universities, and one Teacher's Party Branch Secretary was awarded as an Outstanding Party Worker in Beijing Universities.
The accomplishments of the commended Party organisations and members have been released for the institution’s Party organisations and Party members from all levels to learn from.

The Party Branch of the University of Science and Technology Beijing Institute of Cultural Heritage and History of Science & Technology is affiliated with the Party Committee of the College of Metallurgical and Ecological Engineering, with 27 teachers, including 13 party members. For a long time, the Party Branch has been adhering to the value of ‘strengthening the country with steel and rejuvenating the nation with science and technology’. The branch inherited the national sentiment and pursuit of academic research that defined the founding members of China’s physical metallurgy and metallurgical history disciplines. Founding members include Mr. Ke Jun, a senior academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Branch integrated into the discipline of the history of science and technology, and promoted excellent traditional culture as the ‘dual engine’ for branch construction and career development. The Party Branch became a strong leader in implementing the fundamental task of educating people virtuously. They boosted the construction of first-class academic disciplines by aligning goals, joining forces, and showcasing accomplishments. The discipline of the history of science and technology was ranked first place or A+ in three national subject evaluations in 2008, 2012, and 2017. In 2014, it received the honorary title of ‘Advanced Collective of the National Education System’, awarded by Xi Jinping and other party and state leaders.
